About Adhesins Research

Advancing the understanding of bacterial adhesion mechanisms

Our Mission

The Adhesins Research Portal is dedicated to fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing in the field of bacterial adhesion biology. We provide researchers, students, and healthcare professionals with comprehensive resources to understand and combat bacterial infections through the study of adhesin-mediated pathogenesis.

Our Vision

To become the premier global resource for adhesin research, facilitating breakthrough discoveries in anti-adhesion therapies and contributing to the development of novel antimicrobial strategies that address the growing threat of antibiotic resistance.

What We Provide

Our History

Established in 2020, the Adhesins Research Portal emerged from a collaborative effort between leading microbiology research institutions to address the fragmented nature of adhesin research resources. Recognizing the critical role of bacterial adhesins in pathogenesis and the potential for anti-adhesion therapies, we created this comprehensive platform to unite the global research community.

Today, we serve over 10,000 researchers worldwide, hosting a database of more than 500 characterized adhesins, providing access to hundreds of validated protocols, and facilitating collaborations that have led to numerous breakthrough discoveries in the field.
